Who we are?
Slated was founded in 2010 by husband and wife duo, Ed and Tara Hammond. It’s our desire to build a business that stays true to the things we believe in: truth, community, and empowerment. So yep, we’re the Slate People. But it’s always been about so much more than Slate. We believe in Corporate Social Responsibility.
So this Christmas Season, Slated want to give back.
Giving Back and Finding the Right Partner…
Slated has a mission to help those in need by giving back this Christmas. We believe in Conscious Commerce, businesses have the power to give back to society. Everyone has the sway to inspire change around them, and we saw an opportunity to use our products and customers, to help people in need.
To us, finding the right non-profit to partner was about working with an established organization, with people we liked and trusted. We found the perfect partner with Peter McVerry Trust who have been Opening Doors for the last 35 years.
When you purchase a product from the Slated Collection this holiday season, on our website, a portion of each sale will be donated to Peter McVerry Trust. We chose this charity as our philanthropic partner because they embody the values most important to us: transparency, relationship-building, and a long-term commitment to positive change.
Peter McVerry Trust is committed to reducing homelessness, the harm caused by substance misuse and social disadvantage. Peter McVerry Trust provides low-threshold entry services, primarily to younger people and vulnerable adults with complex needs, and offers pathways out of homelessness based on the principles of the Housing First model.
Slated is proud to be a benefit company, having a positive impact on society.
The Slated Mission: To make beautiful, well-made, products while using the power of business to give back and shift narratives around social injustices.
